Basketball Recap: The Master's Academy Takes a Loss

The Master's Academy has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 23.33 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They had to suffer through a 60-22 loss at the hands of the Burns Bulldogs. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Burns was led to victory by Kaylee Greene and Emma Wallace. Greene posted 21 points and three steals, while Wallace earned 13 points along with seven steals and six assists. Wallace is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Miley Beam, who had eight points.

Having lost for the first time this season, The Master's Academy fell to 5-1. As for Burns, their record is now 5-2.

The Master's Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Veritas Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 17, 2025. As for Burns, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-12 victory against Chase on the 17th.
