Basketball Game Preview: Truman Patriots vs. Ruskin Golden Eagles

The Truman Patriots will challenge the Ruskin Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Ruskin is hoping to do what Platte County couldn't on Friday: put an end to Truman's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Truman was the clear victor by a 74-52 margin over Platte County. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Ruskin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 61-55 to Belton.

Truman is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Ruskin, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Truman came up short against Ruskin in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 69-64. Can Truman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
