League recap: Trout breaks off league-leading run for Kingfisher

Reid Trout of Kingfisher ran for the longest rushing play in 3A District 3 this season against Marlow last week. Trout's team bested the Outlaws as he sprinted for 65 yards on the play and finished with 117 in all.

Heritage Hall extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Star-Spencer, 17-0. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Chargers.

Kingfisher's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Grant Newton threw for 115 and two touchdowns and Jake Blair had 52 yards receiving. Keaton Ely helped Kingfisher's passing attack out by catching one ball for 48 yards.

Trey Yoeman made the biggest impact on defense this week as Jeff Myers' team defeated Marlow. The 5-foot-9 sophomore forced one fumble.

Heritage Hall's Conner McGinnis and Chedon Shockley have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. McGinnis has thrown for 1288 yards this season, while Shockley, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 53 catches for 745 yards. The Yellowjackets' Landon Nault leads the league in rushing yards with 1301.

Oklahoma Centennial took down Marshall 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
