Volleyball Recap: Old Fort Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Paul, Old Fort was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Elmwood Royals.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 25-15, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Elmwood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Callie Luken had 11 digs and three assists.

Old Fort's victory bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Elmwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Old Fort wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Emmanuel Christian on the 10th. As for Elmwood, after both having extra time off, they and Bluffton will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Royals surely won't give up without a fight.
