Red Bluff gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the West Valley Eagles 36-7. The Spartans have beaten the Eagles the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Bluff to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashden Wehbey, who threw for 111 yards and three TDs. Those 111 passing yards gave Wehbey a new career-high. Red Bluff also got a significant boost from Cruz Servera, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 118 yards.

West Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Red Bluff will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. After each having a week off, West Valley and Big Valley Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on September 12.
