Basketball Preview: East Rowan Mustangs vs. Northwest Cabarrus Trojans

The East Rowan Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

East Rowan came into Friday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They slipped by South Rowan 63-62 on Friday. The win was just what East Rowan needed coming off of a 76-32 loss in their prior matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Rowan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Bradley, who scored 18 points. Bradley is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Wembolua, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Northwest Cabarrus was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 65-64 to the Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (58), Northwest Cabarrus still had to take the loss.

East Rowan's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-17. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-9.

East Rowan took a serious blow against the Trojans when the teams last played back in January, falling 72-34. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Northwest Cabarrus' Landon Rowe, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Now that East Rowan knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
