Volleyball Game Preview: Fontbonne Academy Ducks vs. Malden Catholic Lancers

The Fontbonne Academy Ducks will head out to take on the Malden Catholic Lancers at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Fontbonne Academy lost 3-0 to Bridgewater-Raynham on Friday. The Ducks haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Fontbonne Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-12, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Malden Catholic came up short against Peabody Veterans Memorial on Friday, falling 3-0.

Malden Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Fontbonne Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Fontbonne Academy beat Malden Catholic 3-1 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ducks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
