After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Lutheran, PACT Charter was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the St. Croix Prep Lions 7-5. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.
Mia Sparre made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits. Those hits were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, June Tessum was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base was her first of the season. Ella Ling was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
PACT Charter's victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Coming up, PACT Charter will head out on the road to challenge Breck at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Croix Prep, they will take on Humboldt at 4:30 p.m. on the 24th.
