Baseball Game Preview: Wallkill Panthers vs. Chester Hambletonians

The Wallkill Panthers will face off against the Chester Hambletonians at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Wallkill nor Chester posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Wallkill easily dispatched Valley Central on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Panthers fell just short of Kingston by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday.

Wallkill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Rauschenbach, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Chester was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to Newburgh Free Academy.

Wallkill's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Chester, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Wallkill skirted past Chester 5-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hambletonians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
