Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Has No Trouble Against Yoakum

St. Joseph not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 12th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Yoakum Bulldogs. The victory continues a trend for the Flyers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

St. Joseph got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The final score came out to 30-28, 25-15, 25-17.

Abigail Brister was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 12 digs and three assists. Claire Connally also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

St. Joseph was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

St. Joseph's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Yoakum, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4.

Coming up, St. Joseph will take on Edna at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Yoakum, they will face off against Schulenburg at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
