Volleyball Recap: Soquel Knights vs. Summit Shasta Black Bears

On Saturday, the Soquel Knights didn't have quite enough to beat the Summit Shasta Black Bears and fell 2-1. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Soquel took a 1-0 lead headed into the second set, but sadly they lost the next two. After all that action, the final score was 23-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Soquel lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lily Juarez-Sapone, who had six digs and 15 assists. Juarez-Sapone is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 11 or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gemma Reyes, who had 14 digs.

Soquel's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Summit Shasta, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Soquel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory vs. Design Tech on the 14th. Summit Shasta has also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Westmont on the 14th.
