Top 20 high school basketball impact transfers

In nearly one month until school begins, meaning high school basketball's transfer season is in full swing.

Many big names have already announced their intentions to transfer for the upcoming season with Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.), IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix) and Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.) making the biggest splashes.

Look for transfer season to ramp up until the opening tip as one of the craziest summers keeps supplying breaking news daily to the high school basketball community.

To: Dream City Christian (Glendale, Ariz.)
From: Rainer Beach (Seattle)
Impact: The 6-foot-6 wing will be the immediate catalyst for an up-and-coming program after averaging 26 points, 11 rebounds and five assists as a junior.

From: Norcross (Ga.)
Impact: The two-time defending state champions are jockeying for the top spot in the preseason rankings after adding a handful of elite transfers, including Boston, a MaxPreps Junior All-American honorable mention selection.

To: Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.)
From: East Ridge (Woodbury, Minn.)
Impact: A loaded crop of incoming transfers have put Sunrise Christian Academy in position to begin the season as a Top 10 squad. The 6-7 wing averaged 17.5 points per game as an East Ridge sophomore.

From: Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.)
Impact: After one season at Oak Hill Academy, the 6-8 forward is expected to join the defending GHSAA Class AAAAAAA champions, teaming with defending MaxPreps Player of the Year Sharife Cooper.

To: Pace Academy (Atlanta)
From: Cambridge (Milton, Ga.)
Impact: Burst onto the scene after a stellar sophomore season that saw him earn a GHSAA All-State honorable mention selection. The 6-6 guard will be the catalyst for a strong returning core.

From: Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.)
Impact: The 6-8 wing had no choice but to find a new school after perennial powerhouse Findlay Prep shuttered. The 5-star chose to join  Kyree Walker and Dalen Terry on a stacked Bruins squad.

To: Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix)
From: Washington (Milwaukee)
Impact: Regarded as a Top 10 player in the class of 2021 by 247sports, the 6-9 forward joins the aforementioned Edwards and Co. at Hillcrest Prep.

To: Prolific Prep (Napa, Calif.)
From: San Joaquin Memorial (Fresno, Calif.)
Impact: The elite 6-5 guard is one of the biggest name on the transfer market and plans to join a Prolific Prep squad that continues its rise to national prominence.

To: Miller (Charlottesville, Va.)
From: Immaculate Conception (Montclair, N.J.)
Impact: After averaging 15.4 points per game as a junior, the 6-10 big man announced he would attend Miller with hopes of getting the defending state finalists over the hump next season.



From: Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.)
Impact: After initially announcing he would be attending Hillcrest Prep, the 6-3 guard decided to head farther west to join a Fairfax squad that finished No. 48 in our final Top 100 rankings last year.

To: Dream City Christian (Glendale, Ariz.)
From: Universal Academy (Irving, Texas)
Impact: Top 50 class of 2021 big man recently announced he would join the first-year program alongside 5-star wing Beauchamp to form an elite one-two punch.

To: Roselle Catholic (Roselle, N.J.)
From: Perkiomen (Pennsburg, Pa.)
Impact: The 6-5 guard skyrocketed up the rankings, while picking up a handful of high-major offers after a strong summer. He averaged a team-high 14.2 points per game for Team Final during Nike EYBL regular season play.

To: Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.)
From: Steele (Cibolo, Texas)
Impact: After a stellar sophomore season, the 2018-19 second team MaxPreps Sophomore All-American joins forces with Cade Cunningham, Moses Moody, Ryan Nembhard and Zeb Jackson in a loaded backcourt.

To: Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.)
From: St. John's (Washington, D.C.)
Impact: Skilled 6-4 combo guard teams up with Cameron Thomas to form another strong backcourt duo for the Warriors next season. Expect more big names to be on the move to Oak Hill Academy before the season.

To: IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)
From: Whitehaven (Memphis, Tenn.)
Impact: The defending national champions add the 6-4 guard to a loaded returning rotation that includes Jaden Springer, Jarace Walker, Mark Williams and Brandon Huntley-Hatfield.



To: Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.)
From: Nicolet (Glendale, Wis.)
Impact: Sibley had a strong junior campaign, averaging 19.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game to help the Knights to their first state title. The 6-8 forward adds some much needed height to the Warriors roster in 2019-20.

To: Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.)
From: Central Park Christian (Birmingham, Ala.)
Impact: The Buffaloes' busy summer continues, adding Stone among a handful of talented prospects. The Top 100 guard will be expected to lead a deep roster looking to return to GEICO Nationals next year.

To: Roselle Catholic (Roselle, N.J.)
From: St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.)
Impact: Xavier pledge adds a scoring pop to a stacked Roselle Catholic lineup that features Cliff Omoruyi, Niels Lane and Richie Greaves — with other big names rumored to be headed their way.

To: IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)
From: Norfolk Academy (Norfolk, Va.)
Impact: The defending national champions made a big splash in the transfer market, gaining the services of the elite 7-0 center. The Ascenders are expected to make a few more big splashes in the coming weeks.

To: Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.)
From: Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, Calif.)
Impact: After averaging 27 points and 10 rebounds per game as a junior, the Top 10 class of 2020 prospect announced last week he will attend Sierra Canyon. The Trail Blazers are expected to continue adding.
