Baseball Recap: Willow Comes Up Short

Willow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. James Wildcats. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Willow saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex St. Amant, who went 2-for-3 with one double. The dominant performance gave St. Amant a new career-high in hits.

Willow's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for St. James, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Willow will take on Archbishop Shaw at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The last five games Archbishop Shaw has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for St. James, they will welcome West St. John at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
