Softball Game Preview: Hillcrest Hawks vs. Richards Bulldogs

Hillcrest is 0-7 against Richards since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Hawks will host the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Hillcrest has given up an average of 16 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hillcrest is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Bremen, falling 27-9.

Ashuni Moore made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Myeelah Alexander was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Richards came up short against Reavis on Tuesday and fell 6-1.

Richards' defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Hillcrest might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Richards when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
