Softball Game Preview: Grandview Greyhounds vs. Sunnyside Grizzlies

The Grandview Greyhounds will take on the Sunnyside Grizzlies at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Grandview is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Last Saturday, Grandview narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Granger 3-2.

The team relied heavily on Aaliyah Hernandez, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-1. Hernandez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Lyndsey Padgham was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Grandview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Sunnyside made easy work of Prosser on Tuesday and carried off a 13-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.

Grandview's record is now 3-0. As for Sunnyside, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Grandview might still be hurting after the 25-0 loss they got from Sunnyside when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Can Grandview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
