Softball Recap: Swansea Comes Up Short

Swansea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 8-4 to the Silver Bluff Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 last Tuesday.

LaMonika Wright was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Swansea's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Silver Bluff, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Swansea will face off against rival Fox Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Silver Bluff is set to challenge their familiar foe Barnwell at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
