Softball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Newport duked it out with Ludlow on Thursday. The Wildcats lost 26-1 to the Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-2 back in April.

This is the second loss in a row for Newport and nudges their season record down to 2-17. As for Ludlow, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Newport nor Ludlow have any future games scheduled.
