Basketball Recap: Roaring Fork Comes Up Short

If Roaring Fork was feeling good fresh off their 66-37 takedown of Meeker last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Roaring Fork Rams were dealt a 65-35 loss at the hands of the Aspen Skiers on Friday. The Rams have struggled against the Skiers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Roaring Fork lost, don't look at Lucas Carballeira. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points. Carballeira is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryder Tezanos, who posted six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aspen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Berro, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Kristofers Klavins was another key player, putting up 11 points and five assists.

Roaring Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Aspen, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.

Roaring Fork has already played their next game, a 50-34 win against North Fork on the 1st. As for Aspen, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-39 victory against Rifle on the 1st.
