Recap: Cotulla Cowboys vs. Crystal City Javelinas
The Cotulla Cowboys's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by Crystal City on the road and fell 62-31. Cotulla has struggled against Crystal City recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Crystal City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lyndsie Bosquez, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and six blocks. Bosquez is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bela Tapia, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Cotulla bumped their record down to 2-16 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road. As for Crystal City, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
Cotulla will look to defend their home court on Friday against Dilley at 6:15 p.m. Dilley has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18. As for Crystal City, they will head out on the road to challenge Lytle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lytle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday.
