Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Takes a Loss

After flying high against Iowa Colony on Friday, Santa Fe came back down to earth. The Indians fell 6-2 to the Clear Springs Chargers on Saturday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Jayce Richardson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Clear Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season.

Santa Fe will take on La Porte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clear Springs, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Deer Park at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Chargers 3.7, the Deer 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
