Recap: Woodcreek Timberwolves vs. Chico Panthers
The Woodcreek Timberwolves won the last time they faced the Chico Panthers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Woodcreek walked away with a 61-51 win over Chico.
Woodcreek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Hennessey led the charge by scoring 14 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Dennie, who scored 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Chico lost, one person who can't be blamed is Adam Brott. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Brott's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Magnus Nielsen, who scored 11 points.
Woodcreek is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Chico, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Woodcreek will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Alhambra at 4:00 p.m. on December 7th. Alhambra will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 499th, while Woodcreek is ranked 195th). As for Chico, they will face off against River Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully River Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday.
