Baseball Game Preview: Mount Vernon Christian Hurricanes vs. South Whidbey Falcons

The Mount Vernon Christian Hurricanes will face off against the South Whidbey Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Mount Vernon Christian made easy work of La Conner and carried off a 30-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Hurricanes, who have now won nine games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, South Whidbey had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They never let the Wolves get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory.

Mount Vernon Christian is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for South Whidbey, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Mount Vernon Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against South Whidbey in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Hurricanes repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
