Preview: Emery Spartans vs. Juab Wasps
Emery is 3-0 against Juab since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Emery Spartans will play host again and welcome the Juab Wasps, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Emery's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Emery stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat North Sanpete 75-40 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Emery has posted since December 13, 2023.
Emery got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Wade Stilson out in front who scored 14 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Stilson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Zack Tuttle was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Juab suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. Their rough 64-39 defeat to Manti might stick with them for a while. Juab has not had much luck with Manti recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Emery's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Juab, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.
Emery came out on top in a nail-biter against Juab in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 56-54. Does Emery have another victory up their sleeve, or will Juab turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
