Basketball Game Preview: Spring Valley Timberwolves vs. South Charleston Black Eagles

Spring Valley is 2-8 against South Charleston since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Timberwolves will be home for the holidays to greet the Black Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Spring Valley is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They managed a 65-60 win over Calvary Baptist Academy.

Harrison Riggs had an outrageously good game as he shot 69% from the field en route to 26 points and eight boards. He is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 22 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Parker Phillips, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, South Charleston beat Summit Christian Academy 64-51 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Black Eagles.

Spring Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over South Charleston in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 57-49. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Black Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
