Baseball Recap: West Wendover Extends Winning Streak to Four

West Wendover waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Pershing County Mustangs 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won three matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Tavian Gonzalez and Aidien Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Gonzalez struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Rodriguez struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Gonzalez scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Rodriguez scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Rodriguez also put up a triple, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, West Wendover got a big performance out of Markus Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Danny Soriano, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
