Basketball Recap: Desert Christian Takes a Loss

Desert Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. The matchup between them and the St. Monica Academy Crusaders didn't end well, with the Desert Christian Knights falling 70-51. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-51 last Friday.

Despite the loss, Desert Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Joshua Nuzum posted 21 points and eight boards. Nuzum's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Adam Goodale, who earned nine points.

Desert Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for St. Monica Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Desert Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 69-53 loss against Valley Torah on the 30th. St. Monica Academy has also already played their next match, a 42-39 defeat against Faith Baptist on the 30th.
