Softball Recap: St. Henry Victorious

St. Henry was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Marion Local Flyers, sneaking past 6-4. This was payback for the Redskins, who suffered a 5-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leah Lefeld was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rya Buschur, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Lauren Thieman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

With the victory, St. Henry broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9. As for Marion Local, they dropped their record down to 7-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
