Volleyball Recap: Westminster Falls to Arvada West in First Game of Season

Westminster had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Arvada West Wildcats on Friday. The Wolves' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15, 25-11.

Juan Gonzales paced Westminster's offense, picking up five kills. Gonzales got some help from Adrian Vannavong and his nine assists. Finally, Isaac Lopez kept Westminster's defense grounded, leading the team with seven blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Anden Draper, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Westminster wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Chaparral on the 1st. As for Arvada West, they will take on Mullen at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
