Football Recap: Breckenridge Buckaroos vs. Cisco Loboes
Breckenridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 30-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cisco Loboes. The Buckaroos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Loboes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Despite the loss, Breckenridge still got an impressive performance from Sawyer Wimberley, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wimberley got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 60 yards.
Breckenridge wouldn't let Cisco keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Jaime Cruz was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance. Another thorn in Cisco's side was Gunnar Pearce, who made 13 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Breckenridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cisco, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Breckenridge will head out to take on Eastland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cisco, they will take on Coleman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cisco is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
