Basketball Recap: Mapleton Extends Winning Streak to Two

Mapleton won against Crow/City First Christian Academy on Tuesday with 43 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Mapleton Sailors beat the Crow Cougars by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 43-18. The Sailors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Mapleton and bumps their season record up to 16-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.0 points over those games. As for Crow, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mapleton will venture away from home to face off against McKenzie at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mapleton is facing McKenzie at the right time seeing as McKenzie is stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Crow, they will square off against Siletz Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
