            Football Preview: Clovis North Broncos vs. Clovis West Golden Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            The Clovis North Broncos will venture away from home to  face off against the Clovis West Golden Eagles  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Clovis North is coming into the  contest on  a  three-game losing streak.
Things were looking good for Clovis North after they put the first  points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took  a  30-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buchanan. While the Broncos didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bears  7-0 in the first  quarter.
 Despite the  defeat, Clovis North saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  J R Cruz rushed for 189 yards and two  TDs while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Clovis West entered their  matchup against Central East  on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Golden Eagles fell  46-39 to the Bengals. The Golden Eagles were up  14-0 in the first  quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.
 Clovis North will need to focus on slowing down  Jamar (JJ) Howard, one of several Clovis West players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 215 yards and four  touchdowns. Howard has been hot recently, having  posted three or more  passing touchdowns the last four times he's  played.  Aamir Wright was in the mix  as well, providing Clovis West with three scores.
 Clovis West's  loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Clovis North, their record now sits at 5-3.
 Everything went Clovis North's way against Clovis West in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024, as Clovis North made off with  a  31-9 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
