Basketball Game Preview: Grain Valley Eagles vs. Ruskin Golden Eagles

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles take on the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ruskin took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Grain Valley, who comes in off a win.

Grain Valley is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since January 10th on Friday. They had just enough and edged Fort Osage out 52-49. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Indians are ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Ruskin came up short against Platte County on Friday and fell 74-67.

Grain Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. As for Ruskin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
