Softball Recap: Timothy Christian Starts Season with Victory at Home

Timothy Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Parkview Christian Academy Falcons a 15-0 shutout.

Maci Woerner made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Woerner was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sophia Mook was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Chloe Wetterquist was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Timothy Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parkview Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .250.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timothy Christian will head out to square off against Ridgewood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Parkview Christian Academy, they will face off against Westmont at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Parkview Christian Academy is coming into the game on a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.
