Volleyball Recap: Ravenna Takes a Loss

Ravenna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Streetsboro Rockets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-13.

Jalysia Thompson paced Ravenna's offense, picking up five kills. Thompson got some help from Jordyn Allen and her seven assists. Sonoma White controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Streetsboro was led to victory by Leyna Fincham and Mikayla Sweet. Fincham had 24 digs and two aces, while Sweet had 14 digs and three aces. That's the most digs Sweet has posted over her last six contests.

Ravenna's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Streetsboro, with the victory, they broke their six-match losing streak and moved their record to 2-12.

Ravenna has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Western Reserve Academy on the 4th. As for Streetsboro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Field on the 7th.
