Softball Recap: Foster Bulldogs vs. Lindbergh Eagles
Foster had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-13 to make it nine. They lost 11-0 to the Lindbergh Eagles. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.
Foster saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Princess Noa, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
As for Lindbergh, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games.
On Lindbergh's side, Hailey Rasmussen made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Rasmussen has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Amelia Harris was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Raylyn Pocaigue, who earned one run and three stolen bases.
Looking ahead, Foster will challenge Interlake at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.32 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lindbergh, they will square off against Mercer Island at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
