Basketball Recap: Coupeville Comes Up Short

Coupeville suffered their biggest defeat since January 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Mount Vernon Christian Hurricanes, falling 69-31. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 83rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Coupeville and nudges their season record down to 7-9. As for Mount Vernon Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coupeville will venture away from home to challenge La Conner at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mount Vernon Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Friday Harbor at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
