Volleyball Recap: Sonoraville Starts Season with Loss at Home

Sonoraville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 2-0 to the LaFayette Ramblers on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Phoenix of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Sonoraville may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 16 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-16.

LaFayette found their leader in sophomore Jaslyn Capello, who had seven digs and two aces.

Coincidentally, Sonoraville and LaFayette will both be playing Pickens the next time they take the court. The Ramblers will head out to face the Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Phoenix will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
