Baseball Recap: Mercer Island Comes Up Short

Mercer Island fell victim to Mount Si and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 7-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Islanders were not able to get on the board.

Mercer Island saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baird Sirriani, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Sirriani snagged this season.

Mercer Island is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. As for Mount Si, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Mercer Island didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 loss against Inglemoor on the 7th. As for Mount Si, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against North Creek on the 7th.
