The Mechanicsburg Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Ridgedale Rockets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mechanicsburg has three straight victories, Ridgedale has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, Mechanicsburg beat Triad 4-1.
Colton Walborn made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Liam O'Laughlin was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Ridgedale didn't have quite enough to beat Waynesfield-Goshen on Tuesday and fell 3-2.
Ridgedale saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Mawer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Mechanicsburg's record now sits at 10-2. As for Ridgedale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Ridgedale's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mechanicsburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. It's a different story for Ridgedale, though, as they've only averaged .249. Will they be able to contain Mechanicsburg's hitters?
Mechanicsburg took their win against Ridgedale when the teams last played back in April of 2017 by a conclusive 15-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
