Preview: Childress Bobcats vs. Tulia Hornets
Childress is 8-0 against Tulia since October of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Childress Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tulia Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Childress had to suffer through a rough 63-21 loss at the hands of Canadian. Childress was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Childress' loss came about despite a quality game from Isaiah Jalomo, who picked up 128 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Jalomo's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards.
The matchup between Tulia and Friona two Fridays ago hardly resembled the 13-7 effort from their previous meeting. Tulia took a serious blow against Friona, falling 55-8. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tulia in their matchups with Friona: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Tulia got a solid performance out of David Molina, who rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Childress has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Tulia, their loss was their fourth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-5.
Everything came up roses for Childress against Tulia when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 48-15 victory. Does Childress have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tulia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
