Softball Recap: Green Canyon Takes a Loss

Green Canyon had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 6-15 to make it six. They lost 16-1 to the Sky View Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

As for Sky View, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Sky View's part, Avaree Haramoto was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Haramoto was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Kaylee Eskelson and Cassidy Coleman did most of the damage at the plate: Eskelson went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Coleman got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Eskelson has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliza Birman, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Canyon will welcome Jordan at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Beetdiggers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Sky View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Roy at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
