Reedy has gone a perfect 4-0 against Newman Smith recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Reedy Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Newman Smith Trojans. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Reedy has four straight victories, Newman Smith has 27 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Reedy's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Friday, when they got past Lone Star's usually-dominant pitching crew. Reedy walked away with a 14-9 win over Lone Star.

Paige Sommers was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Abby Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Reedy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .514. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .325 or higher in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Newman Smith fell victim to The Colony and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 14-0 to the Cougars.

Reedy pushed their record up to 7-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Newman Smith, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Newman Smith's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Reedy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. It's a different story for Newman Smith, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Reedy's hitters?

Everything went Reedy's way against Newman Smith in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Reedy made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Reedy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
