Basketball Recap: Graham Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ladario Johnson and Kordell Hinton

Graham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 67-53 to the North Moore Mustangs. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 79-70.

Graham's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kordell Hinton, who went 7 for 11 to rack up 20 points, and Ladario Johnson, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance gave Hinton a new career-high in points.

North Moore had a senior duo take command as Brady Preslar went 11 of 15 en route to 25 points and Colby Pennington dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for Pennington. Another player making a difference was Brandon Powell, who posted seven points and seven assists.

Graham's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for North Moore, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 5-14.

Graham didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 84-34 defeat against Southeast Alamance on the 11th. As for North Moore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 82-70 loss against Cummings on the 11th.
