Basketball Recap: Denbigh Comes Up Short

Denbigh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kecoughtan Warriors. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Denbigh's record now sits at 1-10. As for Kecoughtan, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Denbigh won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Menchville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Menchville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Kecoughtan, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
