Softball Recap: Millbrook Find Success

Millbrook proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wake Prep Academy Guardians, sneaking past 9-7. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 22-12 loss the last time these two teams met.

Arianna Brisita and Brynn Herman did most of the damage at the plate: Brisita went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Herman went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Herman a new career-high. Nicole Drew was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Millbrook now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wake Prep Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Millbrook has already played their next match, a 15-11 victory against Sanderson on the 10th. As for Wake Prep Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 22-0 win against Durham School of the Arts on the 10th.
