Softball Recap: Wahama's Run of Six Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Wahama unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Gilmer County Titans by a score of 7-6. The White Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 12-11.

Payton Staats made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Kalyn Christian was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Wahama's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 16-3. As for Gilmer County, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Wahama is set to take on their familiar foe Poca at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Gilmer County will challenge rival Williamstown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
