Volleyball Game Preview: Lourdes Knights vs. Valley Christian Warriors

Lourdes hasn't had much luck against Valley Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Knights will head out to challenge the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lourdes hadn't beaten Horicon on the road since September 17, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Knights came out on top against the Marshmen by a score of 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 26-28, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Valley Christian made easy work of Dodgeland on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Valley Christian not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Dodgeland between 14 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-14, 25-16.

Valley Christian's win came from a few key players Lourdes will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bella Birr, who had four digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August. Ellie Demler was another key player, getting nine digs and one assist.

Valley Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Lourdes' record now sits at 18-11. As for Valley Christian, their record is now 21-6.
