Baseball Recap: Archbishop McNicholas Comes Up Short

Archbishop McNicholas extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 16-8. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Little Miami Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rockets have suffered since April 9th.

As for Little Miami, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 15th.

For Little Miami's part, Bryce Grubenhoff tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Grubenhoff a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Thomas Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
