Baseball Game Preview: Harrisburg Eagles vs. La Pine Hawks

Harrisburg is 0-10 against La Pine since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Eagles will host the Hawks at 2:00 p.m. Harrisburg has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Harrisburg turned things around against Elmira on Tuesday. They walked away with a 15-12 victory over the Falcons.

Christian Baird was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Harrisburg's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-0-1 (and 4-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Chaney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Harrisburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, La Pine waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Billies by a score of 6-1.

The team relied heavily on Russo Wrightman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

La Pine pushed their record up to 12-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Harrisburg, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 7-10-1.
