Baseball Game Preview: West Rebels vs. Halls Red Devils

The West Rebels will head out to take on the Halls Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

West is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since April 24, 2024 on Wednesday. They came up short against Hardin Valley Academy, falling 9-2. The Rebels have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

West got a good showing from Isaac Hunter, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Hunter has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Will Lenczynski made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Halls waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over the Cougars. Considering the Red Devils have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win got Halls back to even at 9-9. As for West, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-14.

West suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Halls in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
